Christian Formation

Christian Formation is the lifelong process of deepening the understanding of our faith, our Lord, and our relationship with Him.  Each of us enters this relationship, this adventure of formation with our Lord, at different times from different levels and experiences. The goal of Christian Formation is to provide the opportunity, support, and encouragement to enable believers to move along the journey of discipleship.   While education is a part of the formation process, Christian Formation cannot be reduced to the increasing of skills or knowledge as in a classroom. Rather, Christian Formation more closely resembles an apprenticeship. Formation occurs when believers apply knowledge, engage in spiritual disciplines, support each other and encounter Christ through the ups and downs of life.   The Journey seeks to provide opportunities for Christian formation for individuals at all ages and stages of life.   Examples of these opportunities include: -   Sunday school, VBS, and summer camp for children, -   JYM (Journey Youth Ministry), confirmation, and serving as teaching assistants for youth, and -   Participating in ministry teams, small groups, and discipleship relationships for adults.      For more information, please contact Patty Thompson at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone at 218-9119.
