 Patty Thompson, Associate Pastor
I serve as the Associate Pastor of The Journey and yes, my husband, Brent, is the Pastor. We have the privilege of serving together on staff. We have raised 5 boys and currently enjoy an empty nest. We are blessed to have had girls join the family as our second and third sons are married and our first grandchild (a girl) was born in 2009. With any encouragement at all, I will show you some photos! My primary area of ministry focus is Christian Formation which, in its essence, is growing toward wholeness in Christ. It involves discipleship but does not stop there. At The Journey, we are being formed and discovering what it means to “…in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians 4:15. My particular passion is Spiritual Direction, which means assisting individuals to recognize and respond to the movement of God in their lives.
I completed my Masters of Arts in Christian Education in May 2008 and am now pursuing ordination through the denomination. I have been involved in the church all of my adult life, mostly in ministry to children. My passion is to see individuals grow in their understanding and experience of God. I am honored to be involved in the growing ministries at The Journey.
