our pastors & Staff:
Kyle Kachelmeier
Senior Pastor
I am continually humbled by the opportunity to serve as a pastor in God's Church. I count it a privilege to be able to come alongside God's people as we seek to know and love and serve our God. Understanding the depth and breadth of God's word is a never-ending venture. Scripture paints a picture of God's character, the world he created for us, the beautiful kingdom he is calling us into, as well as who we are as a redeemed community. Discovering the beauty of these things in God's Word and connecting it with God's people is what most excites me about being a pastor.
I had the privilege of receiving my B.A. in Biblical Studies at Bethel University (St. Paul), as well as my M.Div. at North Park Seminary (Chicago). Lindsay and I have been married for 20 years and have two wonderful children, Elias (15) and Ariana (12).
Heather Perkins
Associate Pastor
After years of serving as Worship Director, I entered seminary in 2011 and crammed a three-year program into a mere seven years. Following the completion of my Master's degree in Christian Formation in December 2017, I was ordained in June, 2018 and transitioned into the role of Associate Pastor that summer.
My family includes my husband of 35 years, Glen, my son, Adam, and grand-dogs, Maiya and Cruz. My occupational background is in Human Resources and Finance. I serve The Journey bi-vocationally while working Wichita State University's downtown campus awash in a sea of contracts and spreadsheets. I am honored to walk through life with others as they discover and develop their identity in Christ.
